Respected Sir/Madam
Assalamoaliekum
The growth of internet and the advancement of digital media have produced an avalanche of data with numerous dimensions. This data is exceptionally important and significant for unraveling the social phenomenon. The capacity to manage and analyze this information is increasingly important to multiple social domains and institutions in society. Computer Science can manage to collect, organize and shape raw data into meaningful knowledge, while the Social Science offers a variety of theories and phenomenal understandings that can guide computational analysis.
Computational Social Sciences is a new discipline, in an evolutionary phase, on the crossroad of Computer Science, Mathematics, Social Science and Business. Top companies including Google, Microsoft, IBM, HP, and Facebook have already established research and development centers to transform interdisciplinary research themes into novel products. Harvard, Stanford and MIT all have focused research groups and offering specific novel programs on this domain.
The offered workshop/course at DSU is just the tip of the ice berg in order to provide a way in to the arena of “Computational Social Science”. This course will result into the development of new research and product themes because of the applied nature of the instructors.
Complete workshop brochure and flyer is attached for your perusal. Hope to see you in workshop.
