The success of 10Pearls Connexion’14 was a great motivation for the students soon to enter the industry. The Student Centre Event Hall was packed with students, teachers and industry representatives since its commencement at 9 am.
Eleven groups of students displayed their projects for the audience and provided demonstrations. Mr. Zeeshan Aftab and his team from 10Pearls, our Platinum Sponsors, were present all day and involved the attendees in various activities. Evaluation sheets were distributed among the judges who graded the participants on various criteria. Students also participated in voting for the 'Student Choice Award'.
It was a perfect day for the teams to interact with the industry since more than 15 people from the industry were present to provide their feedback. These included representatives from 10Pearls, Teradata, InfoTech, State Bank and other companies.
By student vote, Quad Copter by Mirza Taimoor, Nafey Qureshi and Munib Mir was awarded the first position, Chotu by Imran Hemani Safeer Hussain and Nabeel was declared as second and E-sketch by Sumera Saeed, Muniba Sikandar and Samina Kanwal as third. Dr. Ishrat Hussain, the Dean and Director of IBA was also present at the event and delivered the closing speech. The phenomenal success of Connexions’14 reflected the dedication and fervor of the IBA Computer Science Society.
