SKY47 and COMMTEL have signed an agreement to deploy a localised sovereign cloud security infrastructure in Pakistan. The agreement was signed at InfoSec Conference in Karachi, hosted by TOTAL Communications, where COMMTEL participated as a Gold Sponsor.
Under the agreement, COMMTEL will integrate a dedicated enterprise security platform within Sky47’s cloud environment. Organisations hosted on the SKY47 platform will receive data protection and security monitoring across their workloads, with implementation and support provided locally by COMMTEL.
Because the security tooling and its telemetry operations sit entirely within Sky47’s data centres in Pakistan, sensitive client data does not leave national borders at any point in the monitoring cycle. This addresses a requirement that has become central for regulated sectors, where data residency obligations govern not only where workloads run but where the logs and security telemetry they generate may be stored and processed.

This agreement lets organisations in Pakistan adopt enterprise grade protection without sending a single record outside the country,” said Ziyad Mehtab, Chief Commercial Officer, Commtel. “We are bringing that capability to Sky47’s platform and standing behind it locally.”
Sky47’s Karakoram‑01 facility at Capital Smart City in Islamabad was inaugurated in July 2026 and is the first in a planned national footprint, with a second data centre under development at Port Qasim in Karachi. This agreement extends that work into sovereign cloud security and will be delivered alongside the existing programme as Sky47 expands its national footprint.
