Policy Breakfast | British High Commission, Islamabad
Alfoze Technologies’ CEO, Muazzam Arslan Bhatti, had the honor of attending a high-level policy breakfast hosted at the Residence of the British High Commission in Islamabad, alongside leading IT industry stakeholders.
The session featured Sam Waldock, UK Development Director, and Stefan Dercon (University of Oxford), Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister on Economic Reform. The discussion brought together private sector leaders to explore practical pathways for export growth, key IT sector challenges, and Pakistan’s short- to medium-term economic priorities.
During the dialogue, Muazzam Arslan Bhatti highlighted several strategic priorities for sustainable IT-led economic growth:
• Prioritizing product-based IT companies with IP held in Pakistan — this segment has the potential to generate significantly higher export revenues with comparatively lean human resource requirements.
• Ensuring reliable, high-quality internet infrastructure nationwide — a foundational requirement for digital transformation and global competitiveness.
• Encouraging government enterprises to procure products and solutions from local IT companies, rather than developing systems in-house or relying heavily on foreign vendors — strengthening domestic innovation, capacity building, and economic resilience.
It was encouraging to witness constructive engagement between policymakers, international development partners, and industry leaders focused on shaping a forward-looking and actionable economic strategy for Pakistan.
Alfoze Technologies remains committed to contributing to policy dialogue that supports innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable export growth.
