1st October 2024 marked an important milestone for NUST Chip Design Centre when the graduates of the first Digital Design Verification Cohort joined Aql Tech Solutions (Pvt) Limited after a ~5 months rigorous up-skilling program and a series of 3 exit interviews.

The training included content on C-programming, DLD, computer architecture, RISC-V, Scripting, Physical Design flow using Openlane, System Verilog & UVM. All these topics were augmented by total of 30 hands-on labs using industry standard tools and concluded with team projects. Along the way, regular assignments and assessments were taken for reinforcement of concepts. Moreover, sessions on soft-skills including communication skills, confidence, listening ethics, working in inter-cultural teams and interview skills were delivered.

Kudos to the trainer team including Dr. Abid Rafique Waqar Dr Muhammad Imran Hira Sohail Muhammad Bilal Muhammad Bilal Amber Khan Muhammad Abdullah Ali Aqdas Qamar Moavia whose tireless efforts proved that with a carefully curated curriculum, dedicated trainers and a motivated cohort, few months up-skilling program makes a huge difference for hiring prospects of fresh graduates.

In Aql Tech Solutions (Pvt) Limited, we found an excellent partner to demonstrate a model of academia-industry relationship with a mutual goal of expanding the semiconductor ecosystem in Pakistan.
