Hope is the thing with feathers and this October its wings were pink!
This Pinktober at MicroAgility APAC, in the spirit of courage and clarity, we organized a Breast Cancer Support Day to honor breast cancer survivors, those bravely battling it, the healthcare workers who stand beside them and the families who carry hope in their hearts.
We invited Dr. Erum Najeeb, Consultant General & Breast Surgeon at Shifa International Hospital, who led an informative session on early detection, prevention and treatment options, busting many myths and taboos along the way. She reminded us that the fight against breast cancer is not a woman’s burden alone, nor should our reaction to it be rooted in fear or shame. Instead, it is something we must bring into conversations more openly.
In the end, she urged everyone to take just five minutes a day to pause, check and care for themselves and to encourage the people around them to do the same and be unapologetically upfront about it!
So, here is to every survivor, every fighter, every healthcare worker and every voice that chooses to speak openly about a topic often wrapped in discomfort, fear and taboos.
P.S. Pinktober might have come to a close, but the conversation around it should never stop!
