I appreciate this step taken by worthy Chairman HEC to address the inclusion of Pakistani researchers in the top 2% highly cited Scientists of the world.
I am witnessed to serve under the leadership of Prof Dr Niaz Ahmad, who truly believes in team building and always provides full support to those who work hard for the betterment of this country. I am a true example of this. support, where we have established Farabi Research Centre of AI, ICESCO Chair Big Data Analytics and Edge Computing, Huawei Training Academy, UNESCO Chair of IFAP program and secured grants of 1.5 Billion with our International Collaborators. He’s a trend setter and I believe that HEC will continue to encourage all those who bring glories to Pakistan. All these scientists awarded today have many opportunities to settle abroad but they preferred to stay here and serve Pakistan, which is reflected in the international rankings of our Universities and scientists.
A decade back when I met Prof M Ali Shah Former VC QAU in London he advised me that “No Britain, no American and no German ll come for the capacity enhancement of our institutions, but its our own responsibility to struggle for it.
Being an academician I consider myself and request my fellow faculty that its our obligation to pay back to our country.
At the end I ll sum up with the famous verse of Allama Iqbal.. نہیں تیرا نشیمن قصر سلطانی کے گنبد پر..
