📢 Epic Victory: Apple Can’t Block or Tax Third-Party Payments Anymore!
After years of legal battles, Epic Games has secured a major win against Apple in the U.S. courts. The ruling stops Apple from blocking developers from using third-party payment methods or imposing extra fees on them. This means developers can now direct users to pay through external platforms—without paying Apple’s infamous 30% cut.
The court also ruled that Apple can’t threaten users with alarming warnings or restrict communication about alternative payment options. As a result, Fortnite is set to return to the iOS App Store in the U.S., and developers across industries—like Spotify, Netflix, and many more—stand to benefit.
In a dramatic twist, Apple’s VP of Finance, Alex Roman, has been referred for criminal contempt for lying under oath during the case.
This isn’t just a win for Epic; it’s a turning point in the mobile app economy.
📱 The future of fair app payments has arrived.
