ORIENTATION AND ENROLLMENT OF RE-EVALUATED INCOMING

ADDENDUM:
All re-evaluated TSU College Admission Evaluation applicants are hereby informed that an orientation will be conducted prior to enrollment. The schedule and venue of the orientation will be announced at a later date.

This pertains to applicants who received a “reconsidered” status reflected in their TSU-CAE portal.

TR3S Production has emerged as the Champion of the 4th Refugee Film Festival Short Film Competition, proving that powerful stories are not measured by the size of a production team, but by the passion and purpose behind them.

Composed of only three student filmmakers—Kharl Angelo Manaloto (CPAG), Kissy Pingol (CASS), and Angel Gabrielle Rico (CCS)—TR3S Production entered the competition for the very first time with a shared vision: to tell a story that resonates, inspires, and amplifies voices that deserve to be heard.

What began as a leap of faith became a remarkable achievement. Competing alongside talented filmmakers from across the country, their short film “Tambol” captured the hearts of the judges and audiences alike, ultimately earning the festival's highest recognition.

From their first entry to their first championship, TR3S Production has shown that great stories can come from humble beginnings.

As described by Mr. Atom Araullo, UNHCR National Goodwill Ambassador, the film carries a “hauntingly poetic” quality with a sense of rawness that showcases its emotional depth and cinematic honesty.

𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀 | CCS Bags 3rd place for the STEM Category in 6th Saliksiklaban Competition

The College of Computer Studies secured third place in the 6th Saliksiklaban: University-wide Undergraduate Research Competition in the STEM Category yesterday, May 26, 2026, at the Center for Food Technology and Research AVR, Lucinda Campus.

The study, proposed by BS Information Technology students Princess Lyn Puangco, Michael James Roy, John Kenneth Sevilla, and Van Rodolf Suliva, under the guidance of Gilbert G. Gonzales, MSIT, developed PGT Onboard, a low-cost IoT-based public transport system for PGT TRANSECO.

The system helps commuters track buses in real time, view passenger occupancy, check ETAs, use an in-app QR wallet for ticket payments, and receive announcements. It also assists Passenger Assistance Officers in issuing e-tickets, enables tellers to process top-ups, and allows Operational Managers to monitor buses, passenger counts, schedules, and sales. The system utilized ESP32, GPS, photoelectric sensors, MQTT, Flask, MySQL, and React Native.

After black-box testing, field testing, repeated trials, and ISO 25010 evaluation, the system was found to be effective, functional, and useful in improving commuter convenience and transport operations.

One of the proponents, John Kenneth Sevilla, is also a Sports Writer for The Browser.

Pursuant to Proclamation No. 109, s. 1999 and Proclamation No. 1264, s. 2026, issued by Malacañang Palace, offices at Tarlac State University shall follow the schedule below:

◾ May 25 and 26 2026 | Monday-Tuesday | 8:00am to 5:00pm
◾ May 27 and 28, 2026 | Wednesday-Thursday | Eid'l Adha and Araw ng Lalawigang Tarlak
◾ May 29, 2026 | Friday | 8:00am to 5:00pm

The flag-raising ceremony in all campuses will be held on May 25, 2026 (Monday).

Naglabas ng paalala ang Tarlac State University kaugnay ng opisyal na resulta ng katatapos lamang na College Admission Evaluation.

Ayon sa unibersidad, final na ang inilabas na listahan ng qualifiers. Sakaling magkaroon ng pangangailangang tumanggap ng additional qualifiers sa hinaharap, ito ay daraan pa rin sa mahigpit na institutional criteria at evaluation standards ng TSU.

Nagbabala rin ang pamunuan laban sa mga indibidwal, grupo, o organisasyong nangangakong makakapagpasok o makakapagpa-enroll ng estudyante sa unibersidad.

Iginiit ng TSU na mahigpit nilang ipinatutupad ang merit-based admission policy at hindi kinokonsidera ang external interventions, personal appeals, o third-party endorsements sa admission process.

Hinimok din ng unibersidad ang publiko na makiisa sa pagpapanatili ng integridad at patas na proseso ng admissions.

The viewing of the TSU College Admission Evaluation results will be released starting today, May 15, 2026, while the confirmation of slots will be from May 15 - 22, 2026, per the Testing, Evaluation, and Measurement Services Unit.

Applicants must follow their schedule (based on initial letter of surname) when viewing the results. Kindly browse the uploaded social media card for details.

The Tarlac State University community welcomes Dr. Jasper Jay N. Mendoza as the newly elected TSU president.

Dr. Mendoza took his oath of office tonight, May 5, 2026, at the Commission on Higher Education, officially becoming the seventh president of the university.

Dr. Mendoza previously served as the Vice President for Academic Affairs in July 2025 to May 2026 and Dean of the College of Education in 2018-2025.

The result came after the careful evaluation of the university’s Board of Regents during the public forum and presentation and panel interview held last May 1, 2026, at the TSU Main AVR.

Central to his administration is the "DALAN" framework which he presented during the forum with a vision designed to transform TSU into a hub for "future-ready" professionals and servant-leaders through a balance of inclusive instruction, impactful research, transformative extension, and sustainable production.

His roadmap also prioritizes modern infrastructure and governance, including the creation of smart campuses, the integration of real-time information systems, and the implementation of comprehensive AI governance policies.

Dr. Mendoza’s commitment to the TSU community extends to comprehensive welfare and inclusivity initiatives with plans on revising the student manual, widening of scholarship programs under the Universal Access to Quality Education Act, and establishment of essential student services such as a 24/7 mental health line, dormitories, and a sports hub.

Furthermore, he aims to champion social advocacy by expanding Gender and Development (GAD) programs and strengthening the KAKAMAY Movement.

By 2030, the university expects to see the rollout of expanded Wi-Fi and cashless payments, aligning TSU with the regional development needs of Tarlac and the broader "Panatag na Buhay" goals of 2040.

Dr. Mendoza will be in service for four years as the TSU President starting May 6, 2026 until 2030.
