This week, add one line under each authority.
Six fields, nothing more: the authority, the paragraph anchor, the operative sentence quoted from the decision, one sentence in your own words on what that paragraph holds, a ratio or obiter marker, and your initials with the date.
Run it on one memo. Not the whole library, not the archive — the next memo that goes out.
You will find out fast which authorities you actually read and which ones you recognised. The ones where you cannot write the fourth field are the ones to check before filing, because the case being real proves nothing about the proposition.
Try it on your next memo — how many of the six fields does your current template already have?
