This is the effects of having no competition. The so-called experts no longer have a goal to attain they don't have a bar that they should either pass or simply just match.

It's not only within the aerospace industry that this happens. In the technology industry we have INTEL who's been the best for years but then they stopped advancing content of staying where they were. Then came AMD a previous non-contender, they swung for the fences and took away Intel's crown. Now intel is scrambling to regain it. It had been more than a decade since competition has been this fierce.

There's also the automotive industry tesla came along shook the entire industry now everyone is innovating and releasing products to either match or be better than tesla

This is what we need to strike for, we need to promote competition and promote innovation and that's where we'll all benefit.
