UPSITF, in partnership with Oracle Academy, invite interested I.T. educators (college, vocational, and K-12 high school levels) and professionals to participate in our FREE TECH BOOTCAMP set for August 17, 18, 19, & 20, 2015.

Database Design and Programming with SQL - This course engages trainees to analyze complex business scenarios and create a data model - a conceptual representation of an organization's information. Participants implement their database design by creating a physical database using SQL. Basic SQL syntax and the rules for constructing valid SQL statements are reviewed. This course culminates with a project that challenges students to design, implement, and demonstrate a database solution for a business or organization.

Java Fundamentals - This course engages trainees with little or no programming experience to create Java programs. Participants are introduced to object-oriented programming concepts, terminology, and syntax and the steps required to create basic Java programs using Alice, Greenfoot, and Eclipse interactive development environments. Hand-on practices figure prominently throughout this course so students can experience firsthand the power of computer programming.
