“OPEN REBUKE” IS NOT A LICENSE TO MISTREAT
Hindi sapat na tama ang sinasabi mo, it’s not about WHAT YOU SAY, but HOW YOU SAY IT.
“Open rebuke is better than secret love.”
— Proverbs 27:5, KJV
“And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.”
— Matthew 21:12–13, KJV
So yes, Jesus was capable of righteous anger.
He confronted dishonor toward God and the corruption of what was supposed to be holy.
Jesus overturned tables, but He did not use righteous anger as an excuse for unrighteous behavior.
Makikita natin ang balance sa Scripture:
“But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.”
— Ephesians 4:15, KJV
Hindi ibig sabihin na,
Once you REBUKE or speak the TRUTH matic na expression of love yun
Notice the balance: TRUTH and LOVE
Hindi truth without love.
Hindi rin love without truth.
Both.
“But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.”
— Galatians 5:15, KJV
Ang correction na nagmumula sa puso ng Diyos ay hindi motivated by the desire to control, embarrass, dominate, or destroy someone. Its purpose is restoration.
“Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness…”
— Galatians 6:1, KJV
Pansinin ang word na “restore.”
Hindi destroy.
Hindi humiliate.
Hindi label.
Hindi condemn.
Restore.
At may isa pang mahalagang instruction:
“The servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves…”
— 2 Timothy 2:24–25, KJV
Kaya bago natin sabihin, “I am correcting you because I love you,” kailangan din nating itanong:
“Am I correcting you because I genuinely love you—or because I want to prove that I am right?”
Because sometimes, what we call “biblical correction” is actually our pride wearing a Bible verse.
Jesus never tolerated sin. We should still call wrong, wrong and right, right.
But as Christians, we are called to represent Christ not only through the truth we speak, but also through the character with which we speak it.
TRUTH without COMPASSION can become CRUELTY.
COMPASSION without TRUTH can become COMPROMISE.
But TRUTH SPOKEN in LOVE reflects Christ.
Kaya kung magre-rebuke tayo, gawin natin ito with humility.
Kung magko-correct tayo, gawin natin ito with compassion.
Kung may kailangang sabihin, sabihin natin ang katotohanan, but never use Scripture as a weapon to justify mistreatment.
Again, hindi dahil WE SPEAK THE TRUTH AY AUTOMATIC NG LOVE yun,
Maraming kayang MAG-SPEAK NG TRUTH EVEN WITHOUT LOVE.
That's why Paul emphasized in
Ephesians 4:15, KJV
“But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.”
