Sumile MC Cartridge from Murasakino, Ltd., Japan, brand-new, unused.

Designed by Mr. Daisuke Asai and hand-made in Kyoto, Japan.
The 'Sumile' is a state-of-art MC phonograph cartridge that is meticulously hand-crafted down to the finest details, and exudes a sense of extreme quality and refinement. Very responsive to voicing with different step-up transformers, interconnects, and head-shell combinations, easy to achieve one's personal taste of musicality and sonic performance.
Its sound has a vivid presence, with great tone color resolution, a high degree of transparency, an excellent portrayal of beat, tempos, and rhythm, and an information-rich presentation. It also has highly resolved tonal colors, a huge sense of space, a deeply layered soundstage, realistic timbral textures, and a high degree of dynamic agility.
Its stainless steel base is gold-plated and its body is constructed of an A5056 aluminum alloy, anodized in an attractive violet finish (Sumile means "violet" in Japanese). The gold script was originally developed by a chief priest of a temple in Kyoto 1,000 years ago, and say Sumile in Japanese: す(Su) み(mi) れ(le).
