Did you know that vast majority of the tourists goes outside major cities to visit tourist destinations at the countrysides? like Palawan(Underground River, Elnido, San Vicente, Coron), Bohol, Siargao, Boracay and a lot more.

Most of these places/tourist destinations shares the same problem of having poor mobile internet signal & inaccurate gps listing.

And a lot of these tourists are spoiled by the mobile app convenience and with the absence of it majority of these tourists are having the problems of being abused by local drivers & businesses (non-accredited/non-registered businesses, overpricing, limited options, no access to handheld local centralised info/data) which causes inconvenient travel experience, bad stories, and no interest to go back.

We ourselves notice & experienced all of these while travelling and we've decided to start building a localized solution for the community/tourist destinations to at least provide travel convenient, peace of mind, centralized information, and only the list of accredited & registered drivers and businesses.

We call it RIVEPH (Real Information and Verified Enterprises) - it is an ondemand mobile app designed for countryside & tailored for tourism! - being developed by 3 Palaweños in a "sala" living room while having their full-time job and doing side projects to bootstrap/support this startup that started April of 2019.

RivePH is under the incubation of Palawan International Technology Business Incubator DOST MIMAROPA - Regional Standards and Testing Laboratory & DOST - PSTC Palawan.

Local ride-hailing feature will be on beta test around September of 2019 with our first local transport association partner Airtoda Transport Service Cooperative :)

RIVEPH team met with Mr.Azrai Shuib of Technology Park Malaysia (TPM) earlier tonight. Mr. Shuib mentored the team and helped them understand the different stages that they need to go through in order to be successful in their venture.

PITBI and TPM is on its initial talks for possible partnership and co-incubation. Both TBIs are members of the ASEAN Business Incubator Network (ABINet).

"Mr. Fheter John took the stage yesterday at NUS Enterprise, pitching about his startup RIVEPH.

Out of 32 startups and 7 investors, he was able to capture the interest of Mr Mayoto Hiraoka President and Director of Startia Asia Pte. Ltd. He was also included to the list of 9 Special Startups who will be given opportunity to further discuss their innovations with Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre (MAGIC).
