Ayon kay Rosemarie Quinto-Rey, isa sa mga pangunahing convenor ng Albay Renewable Energy (RE) Alliance, makatutulong ang Albay RE Roadmap upang maprotektahan ang lalawigan laban sa pabago-bagong presyo ng langis at mataas na singil sa kuryente na dulot ng patuloy na pagdepende sa fossil fuels.

Sa isang press release, sinabi ni Quinto-Rey na kailangang palakasin ng Albay ang energy security sa pamamagitan ng paglinang ng malinis, maaasahan, at lokal na pinagkukunan ng kuryente.

Bilang suporta sa adbokasiya, binigyang-diin ni Quinto-Rey ang Solarification Project ng Southern Luzon Technological College Foundation Inc. (SLTCFI), na kinabibilangan ng pag-install ng 160-kilowatt peak (kWp) rooftop solar photovoltaic system. Inaasahang makababawas ito ng 182,500 kilo ng greenhouse gas emissions kada taon at makapagpapababa ng gastusin sa kuryente ng paaralan ng halos ₱50,000 kada buwan kapag ganap nang operational.

Binanggit din ni Quinto-Rey ang tinatayang 1,250-megawatt renewable energy potential ng Albay na aniya ay maaaring makatulong upang mapalakas ang pangmatagalang paglago ng ekonomiya habang isinusulong ang mga layunin para sa klima at pangangalaga sa kapaligiran.

Patuloy naman ang pakikipagtulungan ng Albay RE Alliance sa mga local government unit at pribadong sektor upang maisakatuparan ang mga target ng roadmap, kabilang ang layuning makamit ang 100 porsyentong renewable energy sufficiency nang mas maaga sa itinakdang panahon.

From our dedicated faculty and staff, to our inspiring women trainees in Programming (Java) NC III, and our hardworking lady OJTs — this celebration recognized the vital role women play in shaping the future of technology, education, and the workforce.

Though this post comes a little after March, our commitment continues beyond a single day. We stand firm in creating inclusive spaces where women are empowered, supported, and given equal opportunities to lead, learn, and succeed.
