Brand? Branding? Brand identity? What are they?

There are differences between them. Let's start with BRAND. A brand is a personality crafted to connect with audiences in a specific way. A brand is a collection of values and perceptions the world has about an entity. Although you carefully communicate your brand, you don't have the final say say on it; how the world perceives your branding and values they assign to you play into the equation as well.

If you brand is people's perception of you, BRANDING is how you direct that perception. It is a series of deliberate choices you make to communicate your brand to the world.

And there's BRAND IDENTITY. Your brand identity is the set of design choices you make when branding something. It includes thinks like your choices of font, color palette, types of graphics, and your logo. Your brand identity provides the building blocks you use in your branding strategy.
