WISH USA BUS, TO BE FEATURED IN FIL-AM HISTORY MONTH IN LA
The City Government of Los Angeles has granted its recognition to the contribution of Wish USA Bus to the LA music scene.
Four years since the launching of the Wish USA Bus at the Universal CityWalk in Hollywood, California, the songs it plays do not only catch the attention and taste of the Filipino community but also of Americans and other cultures, alike.
Thousands of local and international artists have already performed along Hollywood Blvd. on board the one and only Wish USA Bus.
It has become a weekend fixture in America’s entertainment capital.
With this, the Los Angeles government will highlight the Wish USA Bus in the upcoming lighting ceremony and celebration of the Filipino American History Month (FAHM) on Thursday (October 6, US time) in front of the City Hall.
For the very first time, on Thursday, at exactly 8pm, the Philippines’ blue and red colors will light major city buildings and infrastructures such as the Union Station, the 6th Street Bridge, the 2nd Street Tunnel, the Los Angeles Airport, the plaza at the Hollywood Bowl, and the main venue — the LA City Hall.
The Wish USA Bus will be situated right in front of the City Hall as one of the night’s attractions.
Meanwhile, Fil-Am singer-songwriter and actress Ella Jay Basco will grace the Wish USA Bus as one of the performers at the FAHM lighting ceremony.
California hosts more than 1.2 million Filipinos, and Los Angeles is home to more than half of them. —/mbmf (with details from UNTV Correspondent, Sonny Coz)
