The NBI has just seized an estimated โ‚ฑ31.4 million worth of suspected counterfeit data storage devices in recent raids in Manila. During coordinated raids in Quiapo and San Miguel, agents confiscated thousands of fake memory cards, USBs, and external hard drives illegally bearing the "SanDisk" and "Seagate" trademarks.

Fake storage devices are notorious for flooding ecommerce right now your files with mislabelled capacities, unreliable performance, and/or data integrity.

This just removes a partial source, as numerous other brands are still plagued by bootlegs like 2TB flash drives sold for only PHP200 that usually deceive non-tech savvy buyers.

This multimedia arts student will soon open a new car-booking app that he claims to be cheaper than other car-booking services.

โ€œBack in late December of last year, may nakita akong posts sa TikTok na nami-miss daw nila 'yung Uber days. For the Gen Zs who don't know, Uber rides that time were cheap,โ€ Erwin Dee wrote, describing how he started to think of the idea of Tara.

โ€œI thought, โ€˜What if gumawa ako ng ride-hailing app? What if may solution para gawing cheaper ulit 'yung fare?โ€™โ€ he added.

With a background in programming, Dee introduces Tara, a car-booking app that will be budget-friendly and will give 100 percent of the fare to the drivers, making them independent.

โ€œTara is not just another ride-hailing app that tries to be everything for everyone. Tara is the beacon of change the ride-hailing industry has been waiting for,โ€ Dee described the application in the Facebook post.
