SNES on Widescreen!
--------
I have not been posting lately due to life things (work, health, family), but since we recently had a holiday, I have been taking a breather to recover, and replay some games just to relax. Currently, I am playing The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past using a different Retroarch core, bsnes-hd, which enables me to turn on widescreen mode. It's not perfect, with some glitches here and there, but it brings a different perspective and view to retro games.

If you have a widescreen device, I highly suggest you try it.

To All Anbernic RG34XXSP Owners:
Check your unit's RAM config!
--------
Last month, Anbernic quietly updated their spec sheet of the RG34XXSP. Originally, the unit had a 2GB DDR4 RAM spec shipped. But sometime during the 1st half of January 2026, the Anbernic website changed the RAM spec to 1GB, effectively cutting it in half. This has been confimed by Anbernic themselves to be true based on several Reddit posts.

When I learned this, I immediately checked my unit and, fortunately, I have the 2GB version, which makes mine a better spec'd one than newer releases, which makes this more valuable (I think).

Note that the other models in the XX line also only have 1GB of RAM, whether it's an older or newer production batch, so performances in retro games have minimal to no difference with the 2GB, although some reports say that benefits are being seen when using Portmaster.

For the other RG34XXSP owners, what RAM spec do you have? Let me know in the comments.

"It’s dangerous to go alone… take this!"

On February 21, The Legend of Zelda officially turns 40 years old! From its groundbreaking debut on the NES in 1986 to epic adventures across generations of consoles, Link’s journey has spanned decades, timelines, and countless Hyrules.

We’re throwing it all the way back to where it began, the original NES classic, now being relived on the Retroid Pocket Classic (because retro never goes out of style). That 8-bit overworld, the unforgettable dungeon music, and the thrill of discovering secrets behind every bush and bombed wall... pure gaming magic.

Four decades. Dozens of titles. Endless memories. Here’s to 40 years of courage, wisdom, and power.

What’s YOUR favorite Zelda game of all time? Let’s hear it in the comments.

It's so tiny!
--------
I was rewatching a review of the Miyoo Mini Flip from and I was curious to know how small it really was. So, as any responsible adult, I ignored my electricity bill and got this instead. And boy, it's a very CUTE device! I was really pleasantly surprised on how small but still playable it was.

And then quickly, I took a picture of it side by side with my other flippy doodads (thanks TechDweeb for the term), the Anbernic RG35XXSP and the RG34XXSP, and it really is tiny compared to them. Haha!

I will test everything now and see if this is a keeper or not. What games do you want me to play on this? Let me know in the comments.

We got a screenshot of the full specs of the Anbernic RG VITA! Here are the highlight specs:

✅ 5.46" IPS LCD with Touchscreen
✅ 1280x720 resolution, 60Hz
✅ Unisoc T618 SoC (same as the Gen 5 devices like the RG405M, RG405V and RG505)
✅ 3GB RAM, 64GB Internal Storage
✅ 5000mAh battery

Honestly, specs is not impressive, since the SoC they're using is 2 generations old. This seems more to compete with the TRIMUI Smart Pro/Pro S, or the Mangmi Air X with its widescreen configuration and more targetting PSP emulation.

Having said that, we assume the price should be within the $100 range, which translates to ₱6,000 to ₱7,000 range.

But let's see what the RG VITA Pro specs are to see what would be a better value.

What do you think? Let us know in the comments.

Some gameplay video of the Anbernic RG VITA. We have more confirmed specs of the units from the video:

✅ 5.46" IPS LCD
✅ 1280x720 resolution

Gameplay wise, it looks like it's not a powerhouse, as these are only lightweight games. But we'll share more info as we get them.

From my current experience with the AYN Odin 3, and with my previous experience with the Odin2 Portal, getting a grip vastly improves the overall experience, which I can confirm to be true.

I ordered the official grip for the Odin 3 last week, and it arrived today. Shipping was a bit iffy (see the damaged box), but the product itself was OK. Yes it did improve ergonomics, especially when using the D-Pad, but I noticed some things I would like to share here should you want to get one as well for your unit:

➡️ It makes it bulkier. The grips really adds to the overall size of the Odin 3, which can be a good thing for people with large hands, like me, or a bad thing, for people with slim carrying cases.

➡️ You lose the textured grips on the back side of the actual unit. The grips have that smooth plastic feel to it compared to the knurled pattern grip. If you don't like that smooth, potentially slippery grip, specifically for users with sweaty hands, then they might want to think about it.

For those who do have the grip, what are your thoughts about it? Let me know in the comments.

Anbernic has just teased new handhelds called the RG Vita and the RG Vita Pro. From its name and design, it's heavily inspired by the PS Vita, with modern features like RGB sticks and shoulders and triggers. There's been a lot of speculation online on what the hardware is, but as of now, the only confirmed spec is the battery: 5000mAh.

On what the difference between the non-Pro and Pro models are aside from the apparent colorway assignment, we will just have to wait until they give more information about this.

What do you think of these? Let me know in the comments.
