🇵🇭 House Bill No. 7850: Advancing Safer and More Professional Law Enforcement Through Jiu-Jitsu
House Bill No. 7850 seeks to institutionalize mandatory Law Enforcement Jiu-Jitsu training for our police officers—equipping them with practical, non-lethal control and restraint skills that prioritize officer safety, public safety, and the responsible use of force.
This initiative was researched, documented, and initiated by Jonz Sandoval, who continues to lead the development of the program by teaching Law Enforcement Jiu-Jitsu to the Philippine National Police National Headquarters (PNP NHQ) and the PNP Special Action Force (PNP SAF).
We also extend our sincere gratitude to the Principal Author, Congressman Faustino Michael Carlos Dy III, co-authors congresswoman Ann Matibag congresswoman Katrina Reiko Chua-Tai and roger marcado for championing this landmark legislation and recognizing the value of modern, evidence-based defensive tactics for our law enforcement officers.
This vision would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our PHYGT partners:
🥋 Professor Alvin Aguilar
🥋 Professor Gustavo Correa
🥋 Professor Rodrigo Pagani
🥋 Sensei Xande Ribeiro
🥋 Master Renzo Gracie
🥋 Master Ralph Gracie
🥋 Master Carlos Machado
🥋 Grand Master Rigan Machado
Their continued guidance, trust, and commitment to developing professional law enforcement through Jiu-Jitsu have helped turn this vision into a growing national movement.
Together, we continue to promote safer communities, better-trained officers, and a culture where skill, discipline, and control prevail over unnecessary force.
