Twenty-five years ago, long before smartphones became a part of everyday life, our story began with hard work, long mornings, and a dream.
At 4:00 in the morning, I would see my father, Bikash, typing away on a custom-built computer, preparing PlayStation Portable (PSP) packages for customers before the day even began. Competition was fierce, but to him, it was always another challenge worth taking on. I remember joining him on early morning trips to Ever Gotesco Grand Central to set up our small kiosk, and riding along as he visited our supplier, Tito Jerry, to pick up Nokia phones that would soon find new owners.
Beside him every step of the way was my mother, Gerlie.
She kept everything together behind the scenes—cooking for the family, preparing store schedules, reconciling sales from the day before, and making sure every detail was in place. Every Christmas, she would carefully list every partner we had worked with throughout the year before heading to the mall to find simple gifts that expressed our gratitude.
Those moments built more than a business. They built a family.
From a humble kiosk in Ever Gotesco Grand Central, Touch & Type has grown into a company with stores across the country. Along the way, we've experienced incredible highs, difficult lows, and countless lessons. Through it all, one thing has never changed: the culture of malasakit that our parents instilled from the very beginning.
To every member of the Touch & Type family—whether you've been with us for twenty years or twenty days—thank you. Thank you for opening our stores before sunrise, staying beyond closing time, serving every customer with patience, carrying our name with pride, and believing in our mission even during the most difficult seasons. Your work is more than the tasks you do each day; you are the reason customers continue to trust us, and the reason this company continues to move forward. We may have started as a family business, but because of you, we have become a family.
As we celebrate 25 years, we honor our founders, Bikash and Gerlie; every staff member, past and present; our partners; our suppliers; and, most importantly, every customer who has trusted us through the years.
