🚀 OSPF — OPEN SHORTEST PATH FIRST 🌐

Want to understand how routers dynamically discover routes and choose the best path? This OSPF Area 0 example makes the concept easy to visualize!

🔹 OSPF Single-Area Example

The topology shows R1, R2, and R3 operating in OSPF Process 1 / Area 0, exchanging routing information across /30 point-to-point links.

📍 R1 Router ID: 1.1.1.1
📍 R2 Router ID: 2.2.2.2
📍 R3 Router ID: 3.3.3.3

🏢 R1 advertises 192.168.10.0/24
🏢 R3 advertises 192.168.30.0/24

⚙️ What OSPF Provides

✅ Dynamic route discovery
✅ Best-path calculation
✅ Fast convergence
✅ Automatic adaptation to topology changes
✅ Scalability for larger networks
✅ Hierarchical design using areas

🛠️ Useful Verification Commands
show ip ospf neighbor
show ip ospf interface brief
show ip route ospf
show ip ospf database

💡 Key takeaway:
OSPF allows routers to build a shared view of the network topology and calculate the shortest/best path to reachable destinations.

Learn → Configure → Verify → Troubleshoot → Master OSPF! 💪
