✈️ Airfares to Rise in April

Airfares will increase in April after the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) raised the fuel surcharge from Level 4 to Level 8.

This jump will more than double current surcharge rates, significantly raising ticket costs for both domestic and international flights.

The new rates will be implemented in a shorter 15-day cycle (instead of the usual monthly schedule) to quickly respond to volatile fuel prices.

🔥 Why the increase?

The hike is driven by a sharp surge in global jet fuel prices, which airlines are passing on to passengers.

Fuel is one of the biggest operating costs for airlines, so rising prices directly impact ticket fares.

What this means for travelers

Expect much higher ticket prices starting April, especially for longer routes.
The surcharge is separate from the base fare, so total airfare will noticeably increase.

Bottom line

Air travel is about to get significantly more expensive in the Philippines due to soaring fuel costs—so if you’re planning to fly, booking earlier could save you money.
