This laptop had an interesting journey getting to us.

Was initially infested by ants and to neutralize them the owner followed a Youtube video (not from us) directing him to place the laptop above a basin of water and provide an exit ramp (via a spoon or something similar) for the ants.

Tbf to the youtube video it worked, NO MORE ANTS! The problem was the laptop WOULDN'T TURN ON ANYMORE after that 😅

We don't usually do laptop repair but we felt we had a good shot at getting the laptop to work again if we opened it up and cleaned everything out.

Customer really needed this laptop for work as a freelancer. He had been following us for awhile and trusted us with this.

So customer came all the way from Rizal. We received the laptop on 8/24 and work was done by 8/27.

After we were done laptop was back up and running!

Customer's reply: "Oh, my God. Thank you! 🙏"

The problem: Build was just missing ram which was already ready for pick up from supplier but our in house courier is unavailable today due to flooding near his place.

The solution: Make the boss the driver 🧐 Personally picked up ram this rainy Saturday morning so customer will get his PC on time tomorrow.

We traced the problem to the mobo, an MSI B550M Pro-VDH WiFi.

While customer is waiting for RMA we lent him one of the shop B450m boards so that he can still use his computer.

Loan is completely free and we've lent out many items, mobos, ram, gpus, in the past.

Warranty isn't just about getting an rma from the supplier, it's also taking care of your customer while you're waiting on that rma.

This build was initially over 90k. But customer was entitled to a 5% discount (worth more than 4000 pesos) because he met all of these steps:

1. Be the first one to order from us in store on that day
2. Order is for a full computer
3. Order uses parts we have on hand
4. Paid in cash or bank transfer

Customer did not even know actually he qualified for the discount; he was happy with the quote and was ready to pay full price but we told him he was going to get a discount of more than 4k.

If the customer didn't know and was happy why not just make more profit and NOT give the discount?

We're just not that kind of shop.

Customer met all of the criteria so we were only too happy to give him the refund, fair is fair.

Just like fair is fair when (many, many) inquiries ask for a discount but we have to politely turn them down because they don't meet the discount criteria and we say it wouldn't be fair to the customers who follow the rules and pay full price.
