One of the most common questions I get in DMs, 1:1 calls, and even casual conversations is:
"Why would I pay $40+ or more per hour for a VA when I can hire one for $10?"
I get it. It’s tempting to go for the lower rate, and honestly, I don’t blame anyone for asking. But here’s the thing—there’s a reason for the price difference, and it’s not just about location.
📌 We all start somewhere. Every VA, freelancer, and business owner has had a starting point. Some VAs are new and building experience, while others have spent years refining their skills, investing in their expertise, and growing their businesses.
So, what’s the difference? Let’s break it down:
✅ Skill & Experience – A $10 VA is usually just getting started, learning as they go. A $40+ VA? They’ve spent years mastering their craft and bring a wealth of knowledge to the table.
✅ Efficiency & Productivity – What takes a $10 VA 3 hours might take a $40+ VA just 1 hour—with better accuracy and faster turnaround.
✅ Problem-Solving & Proactiveness – A $10 VA usually waits for instructions. A $40+ VA anticipates needs, solves problems, and makes things easier for you.
✅ Tools & Tech Knowledge – Higher-rate VAs know CRMs, automation, marketing tools, project management platforms, and more, making everything run smoother.
✅ Strategic Thinking – A $10 VA follows a checklist. A $40+ VA thinks ahead, aligns with your business goals, and helps you grow.
🚀 So, does this mean one is better than the other? No. It just depends on what you need for your business. If you’re looking for basic admin support, a lower-cost VA might be a great fit. But if you need someone who can take ownership, optimize processes, and drive results, investing more makes sense.
❌ If their pricing isn’t in your budget, that’s okay! Wish them well and
move on—but don’t question or compare their worth based on geography.
