I recently looked back at some of my old notes.

There were pages filled with ideas, goals, and things I wanted to learn.

Reading them reminded me of the version of myself who wasn’t sure any of
this would work.

She didn’t have everything figured out.

Neither do I now.

But she kept showing up.

And I’m grateful she did.

Sometimes the biggest reminder isn’t how much further we have to go.

It’s realizing we’re already living a life we once hoped for.

Take a moment today to appreciate your own progress.

For the longest time, I thought confidence came first.

That one day I’d finally wake up and feel “ready.”

But that’s not how it happened.

Most of my growth came from doing things before I felt completely prepared.

Applying anyway.

Posting anyway.

Learning anyway.

Now, instead of asking myself,

“Am I ready?”

I ask,

“What can I learn if I try?”

That question has taken me much further than waiting ever did.

I thought copywriting would start with writing. Instead, one of the biggest lessons was how much thinking and research happens before the first sentence. As an SMM, this reminded me that content should be based on evidence, not assumptions.

I’ve invested hours watching marketing videos and taking online courses.

They taught me strategies, frameworks, and tools.

But one of the biggest lessons came from working with real clients.

People don’t always remember the smartest person in the room.

They remember the person who listened.

The person who communicated clearly.

The person who made their work easier.

Technical skills matter.

But trust is what keeps relationships going.

That’s something no online course could fully teach me.

Some days, progress looks obvious.

Other days, it looks like showing up even when you’re not sure if what you’re doing is working.

Keep learning.
Keep creating.
Keep improving.
Keep going.

You don’t need to have everything figured out today.

You just need to keep moving.

The version of you who started would be proud of how far you’ve come. 🤍

There’s a strange pressure online to look like you’ve already made it.

The polished portfolio.

The impressive numbers.

The perfect positioning.

The confident “expert” voice.

But behind every person who looks established today is a period where they were figuring things out.

Learning the tools.

Making mistakes.

Taking courses.

Building experience.

Questioning their direction.

Starting again.

I’m learning to respect that part of the journey too.

Because building a career in social media isn’t just about becoming better at content.

It’s about becoming better at thinking, communicating, adapting, and creating value.

So if you’re currently in the building stage—

keep building.

Your work doesn’t have to look finished to be meaningful.

You’re allowed to be both
proud of how far you’ve come
and excited about how much further you can go.

There was a time when I’d see opportunities from international companies and immediately think,

“They’re probably looking for someone better.”

So I’d close the application before I even tried.

Looking back, I realized something.

No one rejected me.

I rejected myself first.

I still don’t know everything today, and I probably never will.

But I’d rather learn while trying than wonder what could’ve happened if I had.

Maybe this is your reminder to stop deciding you’re not qualified before someone else gets the chance to.

What’s one opportunity you’ve been afraid to take?

That's the mindset.
