Is Your Password Really Enough?

Many business owners believe a strong password is all they need to protect their accounts. Unfortunately, that's no longer true.

Cybercriminals use phishing emails, fake login pages, and data breaches to steal passwords every day. Once they have your password, they can access your email, files, financial records, or even your Microsoft 365 account.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of protection by requiring a second verification step—such as a code sent to your phone or an authentication app.

Why enable MFA?

✅ Prevent unauthorized account access
✅ Protect your business email and cloud data
✅ Reduce the risk of ransomware and phishing attacks
✅ Strengthen your overall cybersecurity with minimal effort

A few extra seconds during login can help prevent hours—or even days—of disruption caused by a compromised account.

If your business hasn't enabled MFA yet, now is the time to start.

🚨SCAM ALERT: Don't Fall for This Messenger OTP Scam

Think you can spot a scam? Most victims thought the same.

A new Messenger scam is spreading where attackers pretend to be a friend or family member and urgently ask you to send them the 6-digit verification code (OTP) that was "accidentally" sent to your phone.

⚠️ If you share that code, you could lose access to your Facebook account within minutes.

🔎 Spot the Scam in 3 Seconds

❌ They suddenly ask for a verification code or OTP.

❌ They claim they accidentally used your phone number.

❌ They create urgency:

"Please send it now!"
"I need it quickly!"

Remember: Legitimate companies will never ask you to share your OTP.

✅ Protect Yourself

✔ Never share your OTP or verification code with anyone.

✔ Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on your Facebook account.

✔ If a friend asks for an OTP, call them first to verify—it may not actually be them.

✔ Report suspicious messages and change your password immediately if you think your account has been compromised.

💡 Batangas Network Security Tip

Your OTP is like the key to your front door.

If someone asks for it, assume they're asking for the keys to your digital life.

Stay alert. Stay secure.
