𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 Center for Women in STEM in bringing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in the countryside!

On August 16, 2026, Center for Women in STEM with its flagship program, Project CodeHers had the privilege to visit Bogña Elementary School in Barangay Pongco, Bogña, Bacacay, Albay, to formally introduce Project CodeHers and turn over robotics kits for learners to explore STEM, coding, and innovation. The project is funded by Women Win, and supported by Layertech Labs.

The CWSTEM team went on a long journey through rough, narrow, and steep roads that reminded us of the daily challenges faced by their dedicated school head and teachers. Despite the difficult terrain and travel conditions, they continue to show up every day with unwavering commitment to educate and inspire their learners. Their dedication reflects the true spirit of service and the belief that every child deserves access to quality education regardless of location.

We're excited to share that Layertech's 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐢 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐥, will be speaking at the Isabela 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐨 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 as part of the Isabela 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 (𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗡) initiative.

At Layertech Software Labs, we believe that AI and data should create real value for communities—not just through technology, but through better decisions, stronger institutions, and more inclusive opportunities. Frei's session will explore how data analytics, AI, and digital skills can help build smarter, more resilient, and future-ready communities.

Data Scientist and Cyberforensics Researcher Frei Sangil represented Layertech Labs at the panel discussion on 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘁 held in 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗷𝘂𝗸𝘂, 𝗧𝗼𝗸𝘆𝗼, 𝗝𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻 on July 29, 2026.

Frei joined distinguished panelists Qasim Wafayezada, Masoom Stanekzai (Afghanistan), and Oiwan Lim (Hong Kong) in discussing the role of technology and research in enabling more inclusive, secure, and trustworthy civic engagement across diverse and often complex sociopolitical contexts.

During the session, Frei presented the development and operational trajectory of CloudCT, Layertech Labs’ citizen feedback analytics platform, which has been continuously developed and maintained for nine years without external funding. She outlined how the platform’s sustainability is supported through a practical revenue-generating model while maintaining its focus on public sector impact and applied research collaboration.

She also discussed Layertech Labs’ latest published research on enhancing privacy in public datasets through the integration of Differential Privacy, the Laplace Mechanism, and Natural Language Processing (NLP). This privacy-enhancing framework strengthens data protection even in cases where respondents may voluntarily de-anonymize themselves, enabling secure data sharing with research partners while preserving confidentiality and safeguarding individual privacy.

The session provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives with researchers and practitioners from across Asia on the application of responsible AI and privacy-enhancing technologies in support of evidence-based policymaking, civic participation, and cross-border collaboration.

Representatives from the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) North Luzon, the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), and Layertech Software Labs convened to discuss the regional rollout of the 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 (𝗛𝗣𝗗𝗘) 𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗘 Program, reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthening the digital capabilities and competitiveness of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across North Luzon.

The meeting brought together PCCI North Luzon officers led by Area Vice President Atty. Maria Amalia Tiglao-Cayanan, together with Region I Regional Governor Xavier Mercado, Region III Regional Governor Cristina C. Suzon, CAR Regional Governor Atty. Zosimo Arbitraque, PCCI Tarlac President Aileen Chan, Metro Angeles Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Elizabeth Timbol, PCCI Benguet Director Jeanine Cham, Metro Olongapo Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vice President Marie Antoinette Tan, and PCCI Bataan Vice President for Internal Affairs Glenn Bautista. Also joining the discussions are representatives from Pampanga State University, to explore how the State University can extend support, through research and innovation, to their community, moving forward.

Representing CIPE, Alli Rebosa, who also led the project's Training Needs Assessment (TNA), joined discussions alongside Frei Sangil, Data Scientist of Layertech Software Labs.

As the project's technical partner, Layertech participated in discussions on the strategic implementation of the HPDE DRIVE Program, including the localization of learning modules, the train-the-trainer approach for local chambers, mentor development, and expanding digital literacy among MSMEs.

The meeting also explored strategies to strengthen chamber-led initiatives that will help businesses adopt digital tools, improve market access, and prepare for emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI). As preparations for the regional rollout continue, Layertech remains committed to supporting partners in building a more digitally empowered, innovative, and resilient MSME ecosystem.

We are excited to announce a new milestone for Layertech Labs as we officially forge a partnership with Pampanga State University through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) focused on advancing research, development, and extension programs in emerging technologies and public data analytics.

This collaboration marks the beginning of meaningful initiatives that bridge academia, industry, and community impact. Among our first joint endeavors in the coming months are:
🔹 Harnessing the Power of the Digital Economy – a training program designed to empower MSMEs with digital knowledge and skills.
🔹 A collaborative research project on the Mental Health Effects of AI on Youth, in partnership with CyberGuardians PH., aimed at generating evidence that can help shape responsible AI adoption and youth well-being.

CGPH Inc. Executive Director, served as an official witness during the MOU signing, highlighting the organization's commitment to advancing collaborative research and innovation for public good.

Together, we look forward to driving innovation, strengthening digital capabilities, and producing impactful research that benefits communities across the Philippines.
