From the market to the kitchen, and finally around one table, our students experienced Filipino culture in a truly hands-on way.
With the help of Mavi, Anna, and Shan, the students went to the market to buy the ingredients they needed before heading to Xhaunโs home, where they prepared and cooked Chicken Adobo, Bihon, and Lumpiang Shanghai. The experience ended with a Filipino-style ๐ฏ๐๐ฑ๐ผ๐น ๐ณ๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐, where everyone gathered together to share the food they had prepared.
A special thank you to Xhaun Seigfred Gatin Mallorca and his family for opening their home, sharing their kitchen, and welcoming everyone with such warmth and generosity. We are equally grateful to Ma Vina, Anna, and Shander, whose time, effort, and hands-on assistance helped make the entire experience possible.
More than simply assisting with an activity, our Through their willingness to guide, share, and spend time with the students, a meaningful connection was formedโnot only between Filipino and Japanese youth, but between young people who were willing to learn from and experience something new together.

We hope to see more activities like this, more young people stepping forward to volunteer, and more youth joining the RES Youth Volunteers community. There is always room for young people who want to connect, contribute, and make meaningful experiences happen.
To all young people who want to be part of something meaningful: we welcome you.
