AWA MARINE Completes Training with the Philippine Coast Guard to Strengthen Maritime Tracking Capabilities

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – A.W.A Marine is proud to announce the successful completion of training for the Philippine Coast Guard on the use of Long-Range Identification and Tracking (LRIT) services, delivered in partnership with Pole Star Global. This training strengthens the Coast Guard’s capacity to independently track and monitor the Philippines’ internationally trading vessels across global waters.

While the Philippines has utilized LRIT services since 2008, this recent training ensures operational independence and enhances the Coast Guard’s ability to access and analyze data through the National Data Centre—an important step toward increased maritime domain awareness and national maritime security.

“This marks a major milestone in building local capability,” said Liam Murphy, CEO of AWA Marine. “We’re pleased to support the Philippine Coast Guard in gaining full control of their LRIT operations and look forward to deepening our collaboration.”

The training was conducted at AWA Marine’s regional headquarters, where Coast Guard personnel received hands-on instruction to navigate and manage the LRIT platform effectively.

Looking ahead, AWA Marine are exploring future add-on capabilities that will further enhance situational awareness, vessel tracking, and maritime surveillance in Philippine waters.

This achievement reflects AWA Marine’s ongoing commitment to advancing maritime safety, security, and innovation across the region.

Big thanks to the team at AWA Marine and the Philippine Coast Guard for making this a success!
