🌧️ Three Clients, Three Roads, One Grateful Heart ❤️🏍️💻

Today was one of those days that reminded me why I love what I do.

The weather wasn’t exactly perfect. There were moments when the skies looked like they could pour at any time, but as a home-service technician, you learn to keep going. Helmet on, tools secured, motorcycle ready. 🏍️🛠️

As a father, I’ve learned that every trip I make is not just about earning a living. Every kilometer I travel is also a small step toward providing for my family, building a better future, and showing my children that honest work—no matter how tiring—is something to be proud of.

My first stop was in Pampanga, Lanang, where I worked on a Gigabyte laptop. From there, I traveled to Deca Indangan for an Acer laptop, and finally ended the day here in Buhangin, working on a desktop computer.

Three clients. Three different places. Three different stories.

And behind every service call is something I value even more than the repair itself: trust. ❤️

To my three clients today, thank you for choosing me and allowing me to be your tech partner. You could have called anyone, but you chose PC Guy Davao. That means more to me than you probably realize.

🔥 From Stuttering Dota 2 to Smooth Performance — Another Laptop Successfully Repaired! 💻🎮

Today, I had a client at the Bajada Fire Station, a Bureau of Fire Protection officer, who asked for help with his Acer Nitro laptop with 16GB RAM and Ryzen processor.

His main concern was Dota 2. Previously, the game was running very smoothly, but after almost a year, he started experiencing noticeable stuttering, lag, and performance drops while gaming.

Upon checking the laptop, I noticed that it was running a modified Windows 10 Spectre version. While lightweight Windows versions can sometimes reduce background processes, for this particular laptop, I recommended switching to a clean and complete Windows 11 Pro installation for better stability, compatibility, and long-term use.

During the repair and testing, I also checked the storage condition using Hard Disk Sentinel. That's when we discovered that the M.2 SSD was already down to only 49% health. ⚠️

The laptop had a dual-drive setup:
🔹 M.2 SSD — 49% health
🔹 SATA HDD — 100% health

Since the SSD was already showing significant wear, I recommended replacing it with a brand-new M.2 SSD rather than continuing to rely on a drive that could eventually cause more performance problems.

After replacing the SSD, performing a fresh installation of Windows 11 Pro, installing the necessary drivers and updates, and optimizing the system, we tested the laptop again.

🎮 The result? Smooth performance once again!

The client was very happy because his Acer Nitro was back to performing smoothly, especially while playing Dota 2. ❤️

This is also a good reminder: when a gaming laptop suddenly becomes slow or starts stuttering, don't immediately blame the game or the processor. Storage health, Windows installation, drivers, temperatures, and other hardware conditions should also be checked.

Two Problems, One PC: A Troubleshooting Story from Matina

Today, I had a home-service client in Matina, Davao City. She is an architect and also a teacher at University of Mindanao. Her concern was her desktop computer, which had power but no display.

As usual, I carefully checked and double-checked the entire system before making any conclusions. After troubleshooting, I was able to confirm that the problem was coming from the CPU/system, which was causing the no-display issue.

After addressing and fixing the problem, the computer finally responded properly. The keyboard was working, and the system was functioning normally.

But while testing everything, I noticed another problem.

Her NVISION monitor was powered on—the power indicator was lit—but the screen remained completely black. Normally, the NVISION logo should appear when the monitor starts, but nothing was showing.

So, to make sure that my troubleshooting and diagnosis were correct, I decided to use their Smart TV as a temporary monitor.

And that's when we confirmed it.

The computer displayed perfectly on the Smart TV. The video output was working properly, which meant that the PC was already functioning as it should.

That led me to another conclusion: the desktop had a problem, but the NVISION monitor also had a separate problem.

After fixing the computer, we discussed replacing the defective monitor with a brand-new one so she could continue using her computer comfortably for her work.

What made me happy was seeing the relief on my client's face. She was worried because important files and work related to her career as an architect and teacher were stored on the computer.

Thankfully, we were able to fix the PC, verify that the data and system were working properly, and identify the monitor problem as a separate issue.

This is why proper troubleshooting is important. Sometimes, what looks like one problem can actually be two different problems happening at the same time.

Another successful home-service repair, another problem solved, and most importantly, another relieved and happy client. ❤️💻
