Do you often hear that nagging voice telling you your best isn’t good enough? If it’s getting in the way of realizing your true potential, it might be a good idea to start taming it down.

These tips might help:

LISTEN FOR PATTERNS. Pay attention to your thoughts, If you consistently catch phrases like “I’m not good enough” or “I always mess up”, your inner critic might be on overdrive.

REALITY CHECK. Ask yourself or a person you trust, to challenge your thoughts. Are they based on facts or just harsh assumptions? A different perspective might help.

PAUSE, STEP BACK, and BREATHE. Create some space between your thoughts and reactions. Give it some time. Don’t react right away.

REFRAME. Swap “I failed” with “I learned something valuable.”

SELF-COMPASSION. Treat yourself kindly, everyone is imperfect.

LIMIT COMPARISONS. Focus on your own journey, instead of comparing to others — we’re all running different races.

Our inner critic isn’t inherently bad — it can offer valuable insights when we listen without letting it overpower us. Striking the right balance allows us to grow and improve while still accepting our authentic selves, no matter how messy it may be.

“But what would they think?”

We’ve all been there, stressing over what others might think about us. But please consider this:

Most people are way too caught up in their own lives to be spending much time judging or critiquing you.

Also if their opinion or feedback doesn’t help you become a better person, why twist yourself into knots?

Embrace who you are, pursue your goals, and surround yourself with people who appreciate and genuinely care for you.

At the end of the day, you simply cannot control what others think; but you can control how you see yourself. So yeah, f*ck other people’s perception (well, figuratively).

Perfectionism can be both a blessing and a curse. While it drives you to be detail-oriented and produce high-quality work, it can also lead to unnecessary stress, anxiety, and delays. Don’t sweat the small stuff; some things are not worth stressing about.

Practice putting things in perspective. When you find yourself getting worked up over something minor, take a step back and ask yourself "Will this matter a year from now? Five years from now?" Most of the small annoyances and frustrations we encounter on a daily basis will either be forgotten or loses their relevance over time. Remind yourself that in the grand scheme of things, this “particular issue” is likely trivial.

As per our previous post; “Done is better than prefect.” (Don’t sweat it)

But of course, there’s a time and place for everything so please use your discretion.

In a huddle led by Go2's Founder Scott Moran, the Engage Team welcomes their newest addition. The rest of the team gives him some pointers on how to build and engage remote teams in his new role as an Engagement Manager.

The role of a Go2 Engagement Manager (formerly called "Success Manager") is a tricky one. Especially if you're coming from a different work background, say a more traditional BPO setting.

Here are some of the tips the team shared:

1. Be the bridge between the client and the team member. Success works both ways.
2. Speak up.
3. Learn to receive and give feedback.
4. Be proactive. Take ownership.
5. Be transparent.

There will be a point where doing too much will hurt your productivity and the quality of your output. It’s like revising an email repeatedly, but it never gets sent. Sometimes “good enough” is good enough.

Here are 3 things to consider if you want to get things done faster:

1. Set a Time Limit: Give yourself a realistic deadline to finish tasks. You can get stuck revising forever, so a time limit helps you move on.

2. Value Progress: Remember that making progress is more important than perfect. Celebrate small wins along the way.

3. Learn from Mistakes: Mistakes are bound to happen, and that's okay. Instead of obsessing over perfection, see mistakes as chances to learn and improve.

Done is better than perfect... well most of the time.
