The Bangsamoro Information and Communications Technology Office (BICTO) strengthened data privacy and cybersecurity awareness among personnel of the Bangsamoro Regional Hospital and Medical Center (BRHMC) through a Hospital Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Awareness and Orientation held at the Datu Kutob Ampatuan Auditorium, BRHMC Compound.
The half-day activity focused on data privacy, cybersecurity, information security, and the responsible handling of sensitive healthcare information.
The sessions featured Atty. Sitio Rayhana M. Santuring, SCL, Legal Affairs Unit/Data Privacy Officer of Cotabato Regional and Medical Center, who discussed Data Privacy and Protection in the Hospital Setting, and NORODIN T. INTIA, LPT, MPA, MSc.IT, Chief of the Planning and Capacity Building Division, BICTO, who discussed Cybersecurity Awareness and Information Security in the Hospital Setting.
The discussion emphasized that cybersecurity is everyone's responsibility. Hospital personnel were reminded to remain vigilant against phishing, suspicious links and messages, social engineering, weak passwords, unauthorized access, and other cyber threats.
The BICTO team was also represented by Miss Normina G. Adza, MSIT, Head of the Capacity Building Section; Miss Cashmere A. Alon, LPT, Training Specialist II; and Mr. Guiamil A. Usman, supporting BICTO's continuing ICT literacy, cybersecurity awareness, and capacity-building initiatives across the Bangsamoro.
