UPDATE: DTI Philippines clarified that the proposed permit requirement before running online ads will NOT be implemented.

Honestly, good thing maraming nag voice out agad because policies like that could heavily affect:
• SMEs
• online sellers
• freelancers
• startups
• digital marketers

Consumer protection is important, but so does making it easier for Filipinos to grow businesses online. 🥲

Imagine needing permits before running Facebook Ads, TikTok Ads, IG promos, Shopee campaigns, and other online promotions. 😅

Based on the proposed DTI DAO, ads and sales promos may soon require permits, fees, and approval processes before launch.

Consumer protection is important, yes.

Pero sana scammers at misleading ads ang target.

Hindi dagdag hirap sa SMEs, online sellers, freelancers, at small businesses na sinusubukan lang kumita online. 🥺

Adulting milestone unlocked 🥹📄

Ngayon ko lang din na-experience mag-file ng Quarterly Income Tax Return na may withholding tax deductions na from company kaya bagong learning na naman talaga sakin. 😅

Good thing andito pa yung gaming laptop ko as backup kasi sa Windows lang pwede mag-install ng eBIRForms application.
Hindi pa kasi siya compatible sa macOS/Apple devices. 🥺

Dati kasi ang understanding ko, basta hindi lalagpas ng ₱250k annual taxable income mo, wala ka pang babayarang income tax.

Pero ngayong ako na mismo nagfa-file at nagche-check ng deductions, mas naintindihan ko paano talaga nagwo-work yung taxes, tax credits, at 2307 deductions HAHAHA.

And dahil din dun, nagulat pa ako na may around ₱10k tax credit / excess withholding pala ako. 😅 ✨

Medyo nakaka-overwhelm sa una pero eventually na-gets ko din:
✔️ paano mag-file ng 1701Q
✔️ paano gamitin yung 2307 deductions
✔️ paano mag-check if may tax due or tax credit
✔️ at paano magsubmit before deadline

Reminder lang din sa freelancers / online workers / self-employed:
📌 Deadline ng 1701Q for 1st Quarter is BEFORE MAY 15
para iwas penalties at stress. 😭

Adulting is scary pero every filing may bagong natututunan talaga HAHAHA. ✨
