Akala ng marami, kapag may CCTV, automatic na itong makikita sa cellphone. 📹📱

Ang cameras ay nagre-record muna sa DVR o NVR. Para makita ang live view at recordings kahit wala kayo sa location, kailangan ng maayos na internet connection at tamang system setup.

Brownout, tapos wala ring internet? 🔌

When the power blinks, even for a second, your router and modem restart. That reboot alone can drop your connection for a minute or two, kahit perfectly fine ang internet line mo. So during a brownout, the problem is usually power, not your provider.

A small UPS is a battery backup that sits between the wall and your gear. It keeps your router and modem running through short outages, so nothing restarts and you stay online. Two things matter: pick one with enough runtime for your usual brownouts, and actually test it. Huwag basta i-assume na gumagana, unplug and check while everything is still on.

Router or access point? Hindi sila pareho. 📶❗

The router is the brain: it brings the connection in and manages your network, and you usually need just one. An access point is the helper, it takes that same connection and pushes Wi-Fi out to the far rooms the router alone c

It doesn't replace the router, it works with it.

So when one corner is always weak, a brand-new router usually isn't the fix, especially if the rest of the house is fine. The smarter move is the right access point wired to the right spot; wired backhaul beats a signal fighting through three walls.

One unit died. Buy a whole new set? 😱

Most of the time, no. A mesh is a team of units, so one going down doesn't mean the rest are bad, usually it's just one that failed. The honest first step is to diagnose, not to buy: find which unit is really dead, and check whether a clean re-setup fixes it without new hardware at all.

So before anyone tells you to buy a full new set, make sure someone checked what actually broke. Finding the one bad unit usually costs a lot less.

Check the sky before you buy. 🛰️

Starlink talks to satellites overhead, so the dish needs a clear line up to open sky. A mango tree, a neighbor's second-floor roof, a water tank, or a tall wall in that path causes random drops mid-call or mid-stream, even on a fine plan. Look straight up from the spot, not just at eye level, and watch for anything that grows, a small tree today can block you next year.

That's why a proper install starts with an obstruction check, not just the easiest spot to mount it; sometimes moving the dish a few meters or higher clears it completely.

The internet only matters when you want to watch live on your phone while you're away; take it out and you lose the live view, but the recording keeps going.

Your cameras record straight to the DVR or NVR on-site, and the footage saves to the drive inside that box, not the internet. So a farm, a warehouse, or a spot with no Wi-Fi can still have cameras rolling.
