DISABLED CPU BOOST RESULTS IN BETTER TEMPS BUT SAME PERFORMANCE IN GAMES
Na-share ko na dati, that I bought a second hand gaming laptop. Kailangan ko kasi ng portable device for my digital creative works, tech repairs and syempre for gaming.
And lately, itong Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 ko has been suffering from high temp issues. Lalo na I don't have my cooling pad with me here sa Baguio. I have repasted the CPU and GPU just recently, but still have the same problem.
So I have tried several solutions like installing a thrid party software (AATU / UXTU). Ok naman yung temp control pero yung sudden downclock from 4Ghz to 400Mhz yung nakaka-annoy. Up until now, I am finding the best configuration to lessen yang ganyang issues with this app.
So far, what worked well, is disabling the CPU boost via the Windows power plan. Setting the plan to Balanced tapos edited the processor boost from aggressive to disabled. I was able to maintain a consisted 3ghz speed while gaming and topping 65 degrees C on my CPU. Nagiging 80 degrees C lang kapag CPU intensive yung task like rendering, exporting photos sa Photoshop/Lightroom, OBS processing or compressing videos.
Though this solution maybe a temporary one. Gusto ko pa din sanang ma-exploit yung 4GHz boost ng processor nitong laptop. But for now, I still have much to test several setups that might work. Otherwise, I need choose between random stutters or slower processor speed.
