I took the leap and submitted photos to Shutterstock as a contributor a few days ago and my account has been approved today. The current set of photos are not very impressive but I hope I can add more as I comb through my old photos for things I can submit. I also have some idea about vector graphics that I can submit, as well.

I'm currently doing some reorganization to better showcase my skills and I currently opened a Behance profile which I have been filling up with new stuff. Feel free to take a peek.

I do not have a lot of professional graphics design experience, but I have been into digital art and design for at least twenty years now. Sadly, most of my old works have already been lost but I have been recreating some of them whenever I am able. I also dabble in photography as a hobby.

I made a new nickname/username for internet use just recently - beardedoragon. Unlike many of my current and past usernames, this new one seems to describe me the most.

The "bearded" is from the fact that you will usually see me with a beard as I am rarely clean-shaven.

While theres "oragon", because it is a slang word from the Bicol Region in the Philippines which my parents are both from. It is also spelled "uragon" and the meaning - either positive like courageous, skillful or able to do the impossible, or negative like indecent, immodest or rude - varies depending on context and region. It can also describe a person's origin, in this case Bicol, which is the context I am using.

Then, the whole name sounds like "bearded dragon" and "dragon" is written as "doragon" in Katakana basically making it a Japanese pun - I LOVE PUNS!

Finally, both words "bearded" and "dragon" start with my initials, only in reverse order - BD instead of DB.

So, yeah, I created a today for that username. It contains my initials with a lowercase d and uppercase B. You can also interpret it as just a stylized B. It also looks like a heavily abstract dragon spewing fire to the left. I wonder if you can see that.

You can also compare it to my personal phoenix or which I uploaded before this one. Although the creation process is completely different, it looks rather similar with only with the whitespace inverted. This one will not replace that, however. This is for an entirely different use case. I currently use this design on Spotify (which used the new username first) and on Steam.

I created a or sometime within 2017 before and I used it on Facebook and other personal accounts. The design was based on an origami ayame (iris) - it also looked like a four-leaf clover - arranged into a multi-orientation ambigram of my initials (DB). I didn't really change it until late last year but I originally didn't intend to switch.

The new one was initially created in a different orientation and for a different purpose but it got rejected. I actually wanted it to get rejected because, after working with it for a while, I realized it could also spell out my initials and I really wanted it for myself! I then called it Phoenix.

It has a few neat things under it's sleeve. The shape in the bottom-left (the tail and left wing) has the shape of an uppercase D - it can also be interpreted as an uppercase T (for my alias, Tsurugi Danzen). The whitespace next to it is a lowercase d. The whitespace around the object on the top-right (the head and right wing) can be interpreted as an uppercase B. Tilt your head to the right and the whitespace that was also the lowercase d a while ago can now be interpreted as a lowercase b, as well.

I also write music every once in a while and this mon fits that hobby of mine too! Both shapes can be interpreted as musical notes!

I am personally fond of aquariums and one of my former internet aliases is devilfisch. I thought, if I end up owning a tropical fish store sometime in the future, I think I'll name it Fischtank. So... I made a and !

I originally created this logo with CorelDraw around 2014 but I lost the vector. I did have a PNG copy of it so I recreated and refined it a bit with Affinity Designer just a while ago.

The logo is obviously a simple figure of a fish. However, I cleverly hidden both letters F (for Fisch) and T (for Tank) in it! You should be able to see it now that you know.

The logotype, on the other hand has a little tank in the middle. The text was designed to look like pipes and plumbing.

The Denshi.Moe are probably the ones I had the most fun working on. The original designs for both the Mashimaro (marshmallow in Japanese) and FireVolt variants were conceptualized while trying to sleep. I had to make very rough sketches of them on my phone so I wouldn't forget the next morning!

The original Mashimaro was made up of circles with slots going through them to make letters. It also came in an inline variant.

The second version ditched the circles and used squircles - they are not simple rounded squares - for a more organic feel. The FireVolt logo has also been integrated into the "o" at this point making FireVolt a part of Mashimaro instead of a completely separate logo.

The changes have been preserved in the new version which further refines the design by removing all pointed corners and rounding then all up for a softer and squishier look.

The latest version is named Mashimaro Puni which comes from ぷにぷに or punipuni, meaning squishy in Japanese. Even the FireVolt logo got the punipuni treatment.

And the newest member of this is the FireVolt Labs logo. I just thought the iconographic look of the FireVolt design would look nice as a sign. Still don't know what I'll use it for, though.

After reworking on the floral , or for Kizuna AI（official）, I realized I could fit the name, Ai, into a abstract, geometrically stylized infinity symbol. After some tinkering, I ended with this!

I added the tilted square border later on with the image of a game controller D-pad in my mind with reference to Ai-chan's gaming channel. Remove the up arrow and you get a heart shape!

I made floral , or for Kizuna AI（official） as a exercise around a year and a half ago. I revisited the design and worked on it again. Here's the new version!

I added the creases to the lobes of the heart-like headband as an additional detail. It also accentuated the floral design more.

The sakura petals are added to fill in some negative spaces to make it look better especially in the circle border. I also chose to add them because Ai-chan's theme motif is pink and sakura are usually depicted with that color.
