Answer: A. Boa. The creator of Python, Guido van Rossum, named the language after the British comedy group Monty Python. However, the language was initially called "Python" as a placeholder name while van Rossum worked on it, and he had actually intended to name it after the TV show "Monty's Flying Circus." When he realized that "Python" was a suitable name, he decided to keep it. The name "Boa" was actually one of the runner-up names in the naming process, but it was not ultimately chosen.

TRIVIA OF THE DAY!

Did you know that the first computer program was written by Ada Lovelace in the mid-1800s? Ada Lovelace was an English mathematician and writer who worked with Charles Babbage on his proposed mechanical general-purpose computer, the Analytical Engine. Lovelace wrote a program for the Analytical Engine that would calculate the Bernoulli numbers, making her the first computer programmer in history. Her work with Babbage and the Analytical Engine also led her to develop some of the earliest ideas about computer algorithms and programming languages. Today, Ada Lovelace is widely recognized as a pioneer of computer science and software development, and her contributions are celebrated each year on Ada Lovelace Day.

TRIVIA OF THE DAY!

The story goes that in 1947, when the Harvard Mark II computer was still in use, a team of engineers discovered that the computer had stopped working. Upon inspection, they found a moth trapped in one of the computer's relays, which had caused the malfunction. The engineers removed the moth and taped it to the computer's logbook, where they wrote "first actual case of bug being found." This was later shortened to just "bug," and the term has been used ever since to describe any kind of defect or error in computer software or hardware. The logbook with the moth is now part of the collection of the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.

The engineers who discovered the moth in the Harvard Mark II computer literally debugged the computer by removing the insect and fixing the issue it had caused. The term "debugging" has since been used to refer to the process of finding and fixing errors or bugs in computer software or hardware.

TRIVIA OF THE DAY!

Did you know that the first known computer virus was created in 1971? It was called the "Creeper" virus and was written by Bob Thomas at BBN Technologies. The virus was designed to infect DEC PDP-10 mainframe computers running the TENEX operating system. When it infected a system, the virus displayed the message "I'm the creeper, catch me if you can!" and then moved to another system via the ARPANET (the precursor to the internet). The Creeper virus was not malicious and did not cause any damage, but it was the first example of malicious code and paved the way for future viruses and malware.
