Republic Act No. 11146, which we authored during our time in the 17th Congress, recognizes June 18 as a special non-working holiday in Bacolod City in commemoration of the signing of Commonwealth Act No. 326 on June 18, 1938, marking the birth of our beloved city.

As we celebrate our 88th Charter Day tomorrow, we invite everyone to honor our rich history, take pride in how far we have come, and recognize the contributions of generations of Bacolodnons who helped shape Bacolod into what it is today!
