On 10 August 2026, the International Training Institute was privileged to have Hon. Justice John G.F. Carey, Judge of the Supreme Court and National Court of Papua New Guinea, Judge Administrator and Executive Director of the Papua New Guinea Centre for Judicial Excellence (PNGCJE), conduct a Professional Ethics session for ITI lecturers and staff across all campuses.

The session provided valuable insights into the importance of professional ethics and how ethical behaviour contributes to building trust, professionalism, accountability and a strong organisational reputation.

The session highlighted four fundamental principles of professional ethics:

* Integrity
* Respect
* Responsibility
* Fairness

The key message was clear: Ethics is everyone’s responsibility. Each employee has a role to play in leading by example and contributing to a culture built on trust, integrity, accountability and professionalism.

International Training Institute sincerely thanks and appreciates Hon. Justice John G.F. Carey and his team for sharing their valuable knowledge and experience with our staff.

Following the session, ITI has invited Hon. Justice Carey to conduct regular professional ethics training for our staff. We are pleased to announce that the next session is scheduled for 16 October 2026.

International Training Institute (ITI) and Women's Micro Bank (Mama Bank) singed a significant MOU to create Entrepreneurial opportunities for students.

This MOU stands apart from all other MOU’s because it prime focus to create Business owners through providing financial assistance, financial literacy training and space for students build their venture.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Women's Micro bank CEO Gunanidhi Das describes the importance of helping budding entrepreneurs through accessible financial solutions and building a culture of entrepreneur spirt in the country.

In addition, ITI Chairman and Co-Founder, Mr. Senthil Kumaran Sentheyval, encouraged students to make the most of this opportunity by managing their businesses responsibly and building a strong foundation for future success.

The initiative reflects ITI's commitment to developing graduates who are not only job ready but also equipped to create their own business opportunities and contribute to Papua New Guinea's growing economy.

The International Training Institute (ITI) and Asia Pacific Communications Specialist (APCS) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 5 August 2026, establishing a partnership to strengthen industry collaboration and create valuable internship opportunities for ITI students.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Senthil Kumaran Sentheyval, Chairman and Co-founder of International Training Institute, and Mr. Keith Anderson, Managing Director of Asia Pacific Communications Specialist.

Through this partnership, students who successfully complete their studies at ITI will have the opportunity to undertake practical industry training at APCS. This initiative will provide students with real workplace experience, allowing them to apply their classroom knowledge in a professional environment.

As one of Papua New Guinea's leading private digital service providers, APCS will offer internship opportunities to students enrolled in Computing, Information Technology (IT), and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) programmes. These internships will help students build practical skills, gain industry exposure, and enhance their career readiness.

ITI remains committed to building strong industry partnerships that prepare graduates with the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to succeed in today's workforce.

𝗜𝗧𝗜 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗠𝗘𝗖 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗧𝘄𝗼-𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 "𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀" 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴

The International Training Institute (ITI), in collaboration with the SME Corporation of Papua New Guinea (SMEC), successfully conducted a two-week "Start Your Business" (SYB) training programme for ITI students from 13th to 24th July 2026. The initiative aimed to equip students with practical entrepreneurial knowledge and inspire them to pursue business opportunities in Papua New Guinea.

The training brought together participants from a range of academic programmes, including Diploma in Business Accounting, Human Capital Management, Information and Communication Technology, Small and Medium Business Management, Tourism and Hospitality Management, and Marketing Management. Throughout the programme, students gained valuable practical insights into business planning, entrepreneurship, and SME development through interactive sessions delivered by SMEC Master Trainers Mr. Anis Kulimbao and Mr. Edward Kepa.

The programme forms part of the ongoing partnership between ITI and SMEC, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The collaboration is focused on strengthening entrepreneurship, creating employment opportunities, and contributing to the economic development of Papua New Guinea by equipping future business leaders with the skills and knowledge required to establish and manage successful enterprises.

The training was coordinated by Mr. Fincha Konte, who worked closely with the SMEC team to ensure the successful delivery of the programme.

During his visit on 20th July 2026, Mr. Senthil Kumaran Sentheyval, Chairman and Co-founder of ITI, encouraged students to embrace the challenges and opportunities within Papua New Guinea's SME sector. He highlighted the important role young entrepreneurs can play in driving innovation, economic growth, and job creation. Mr. Senthil also expressed his appreciation to the Head of Department and the SMEC team for their dedication and tireless efforts in organising the SYB programme successfully.

Mr. Anis Kulimbao and Mr. Edward Kepa were commended for generously sharing their expertise and practical experience, enabling students to gain a deeper understanding of entrepreneurship and the realities of operating small and medium enterprises.

The two-week "Start Your Business" programme concluded on 24th July 2026 with a certificate presentation ceremony, where students received certificates of participation from ITI and SMEC officials in recognition of their successful completion of the training. The programme marks another milestone in ITI's commitment to producing skilled graduates who are equipped not only for employment but also for entrepreneurship and business leadership in Papua New Guinea.

𝗜𝗧𝗜 𝗦𝗜𝗚𝗡𝗦 𝗙𝗜𝗩𝗘-𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗟𝗢𝗟𝗢𝗔𝗧𝗔 𝗜𝗦𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗧

International Training Institute has signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding with Loloata Island Resort, opening the door for our students to gain real workplace experience in one of the country's leading resorts.

The MOU was signed on 23 July 2026 at our Badili Campus in Port Moresby.

Under this partnership, 20 to 25 of our Tourism and Hospitality students will take up eight-week internships at Loloata, starting in December once examinations are completed. The opportunity is not limited to hospitality students. Those studying Business, Accounting, Human Resource Management and Marketing will also be placed.

Students will be attached to the department that matches what they are studying - housekeeping, front office, food and beverage, finance, human resources, and sales and marketing. Throughout the placement they will receive daily transport to and from the resort, lunch, and mentoring from experienced resort staff.

Loloata Island Resort Human Resources Manager Mr Alan Afu has praised our students for their performance during their volunteer service at the resort, and the resort hopes to bring some of the interns on board permanently once their training is complete.

ITI Chairman and Co-Founder Mr Senthil Kumaran Sentheyval said the partnership is another step towards making sure our graduates walk out of ITI ready for work.

At ITI, internships are now a compulsory component of every diploma and degree programme, ensuring students graduate with both academic knowledge and practical workplace experience. Alongside Loloata Island Resort, ITI also partners with Crown Hotel and IHG Hotels & Resorts to provide quality internship placements.

For many of our students, this will be their first time working inside a five-star resort. We encourage more young Papua New Guineans to consider a career in tourism and hospitality - the industry is growing, and the opportunities are real.
