Gutpla day folks. So today mi decide lo update lo wanpla project mi currently wok lo em stap. So mi installim displa MUST inverter (1000W) na currently running stap.

However, wanpla issue mi g*t wantaim displa inverter (btw, it's a very reliable inverter - mi kisim lo Brian Bell - Madang) em over-voltage protection cut-off.

Taim battery na solar array voltage go past 30VDC, inverter ba shut down.

So mi laik traim designim wanpla circuit lo cutim off charging voltage (from battery and solar) before inverter em shut down @ 30vdc - kind of like a charge controller.

Gutpla avinun folks, just an insight on one of the projects that I am currently working on..This is a simple battery charge controller based on the popular 555 timer IC. It took me a better part of 2 days to build as you can see, I have this prototype set up on a piece of wood. It also took me about a week to thoroughly study and understand the internal workings of the 555 timer IC. I decided to build this after I nearly destroyed my Dunlop MF N50 lead acid battery from overcharging.. just in case if some of our viewers don't know, a charge controller usually protects the battery from overcharging that can lead to the electrolyte (battery acid) to boil and dry up and even causing the battery to explode as I'm sure most of you have heard about such cases..More detailed explanation and videos on this build will follow later.. cheers, DiodeMate.

After troubleshooting, listing and acquiring the required components, I was able to successfully get the Ashton BA150 Bass Amplifier up and operating beautifully again yesterday. The following list of components were replaced:
Transistors C5198 and A1941
2 X 25V, 2200uF Electrolytic Capacitors
1 X 2.5A, 250V Fuse

If you're in a similar situation and require service, parts or just some plain old advise on what to do, please do not hesitate to contact me. Till then, be safe.

After replacement, the Ashton BA150 Base Amplifier fault was rectified and it sounded beautifully.

In late November last year, my friends from the church came by again and asked if I can have a look at the Ashton BA150 Bass Amplifier again. The story was that, the portable power generator (we had a major power outage that lasted for about 6 months) was not sufficiently loaded when the Amplifier was plugged in, which allowed a surge of higher current and voltage to flow into the Amplifier causing multiple component failure and damages.
