What a fantastic way to start the week 😊

On Monday, we were honoured to be welcomed into the fold by the wonderful team at Ngāpuhi Iwi Social Services. From the warmth of the pōwhiri to the genuine hospitality and kōrero that followed, we felt privileged to be there.

We are grateful for the opportunity to connect, build relationships and work alongside such an amazing group of people.

🙌 Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Ultra IT x Microsoft 365 Copilot Event!

From watching Copilot build and analyse a spreadsheet in real time to exploring smarter ways to tackle everyday tasks, there were plenty of "wow" moments throughout the session.

One of the key takeaways was that great results start with great prompts. The more context and direction you give Copilot, the more powerful and useful it becomes 🦾

The questions were fantastic, the conversations even better, and it was great to see local businesses exploring how AI can make work easier.

You’re not alone… but attackers love that.

A recent issue called FortiBleed exposed VPN login details from thousands of devices.

Here’s the catch:
It’s not a new hack - its old passwords being reused.

👉 If it hasn’t been changed, it could still work today

✅ What this means:
Old passwords = open doors
Sometimes attackers don’t hack… they just log in

🔁 Simple fix:
Change passwords
Don’t reuse them
Turn on MFA

🚨 The reality is, most attacks don’t break in, they’re let in!

This attack used a fake “captcha” style prompt to trick a user into running a malicious command.
🤔 If something feels off, stop and check.

That’s why a strong security stack, backed by real people actively monitoring and responding, makes all the difference.

MFA helps. Security tools help. But scams are getting smarter 🫣

Device code phishing has surged 37x and can bypass MFA, not by breaking it, but by tricking someone into completing the login for the attacker 😬

How it works:
You get a message → go to a real Microsoft login → enter a code → approve MFA

👉 You think you’re signing yourself in… but you’re actually signing the attacker in
Simple rule: If you didn’t start the sign-in, don’t enter the code 🙅‍♂️
