The nature (and particularly the LOCATION) of work is changing rapidly.

While many employees thrive with the flexibility of hybrid work arrangements, remote employees can feel isolated or have less access to career opportunities and company resources than those in the office.

Successful organisations must bridge this gap with technology that empowers all employees to succeed. Effective technology also leads directly to improved retention – with the latest research showing that employees dissatisfied with their work technology are more than twice as likely to leave their job in the next year than those who are satisfied.

Last week Salesforce announced a significant expansion of Work.com – the unified employee experience platform to support a hybrid and remote workforce.

If you work in sales then objections are inevitable. You won’t always overcome the objection, but preparation and framing will really help.

1. Preparation - Understanding where and why your customer might object will help you handle an objection when you’re close to actually closing a sale.

2. Framing - Don’t be disheartened, an objection is really just an opportunity to begin a conversation – it’s definitely better than (and not) a “no”.

Check out the Salesforce blog for 6 winning tactics to better handle customer objections during the sales close.

Many SME businesses that made changes during the pandemic knew that they had modernise their business technology even before the pandemic hit.

On the Salesforce 360 blog, Noah Kravitz explores the likely technology small to medium businesses will need in the years to come.

One thing is crystal clear; businesses will need a strong technology platform to stay resilient and responsive. This includes technology that will enable employees to work from anywhere – as well being able to better engage with customers.

The past year or so has brought with it quite remarkable turmoil and transformation.

While the concept of work/life balance is hardly new, prior to 2020 the real-world examples of businesses ACTUALLY successfully and sustainably implementing remote work policies and practices were largely in the “rare-to-fairytale” category.

Previously, even for the most progressive of businesses or organisations, allowing employees to work remotely for one or more days a week was probably an optional “luxury”.

But now, it’s almost become a minimum for viability.

In his latest blog post, Relationship Unlimited founder Clay Nelson talks about how the impact of the pandemic (combined with faster, better internet connections and advances in cloud computing) has been a profound catalyst for change.

For any sales leader, hitting the numbers has always been top priority and a key performance metric.

However, thinking about what’s on the horizon, 12-24 months from now, will help sales managers keep hitting those numbers, even as new disruptions emerge.

It’s a balancing act between the numbers of today and preparing for the customer and sales requirements of tomorrow.

If you’re a sales leader, then check out these 3 sales predictions for 2022 from Salesforce’s Global Growth and Innovation Evangelist, Tiffani Bova.

Technology is key to almost all aspects of solving the global climate crisis.

With Sustainability Cloud, Salesforce is doing its part to help organisations get a grip on their own carbon footprint.

Sustainability Cloud enables organisations to take a deeper look at everything from business travel, to raw materials transport and electricity consumption — all of which are crunched into emissions data and reported in a pre-built dashboard.

Read more about how organisations around the world are harnessing technology for environmental sustainability on the Salesforce 360 blog.

How do you solve a problem as complex and consequential to humanity as climate change? Sustainability technology is a good start.

Covid-19 has had a massive impact on the way we all work.

Possibly the function where this has been most keenly felt however is Sales.

Think of all those Sales Executives who pre-Covid would think nothing of jetting off to a face to face meeting to close a big deal.

Today, with international (and even regional) travel severely curtailed, many sales meetings have had to be conducted via video calls.

In response to this, Salesforce has recently introduced a number of updates to Sales Cloud (which includes Salesforce Meetings).

A key development is an AI powered overlay feature for Zoom meetings, that provides insight and advice to sales people in real time, as they engage with prospects and customers in online video meetings.

For now it works with Zoom, but Salesforce plans to make it compatible with WebEx and Microsoft Teams in the future.

You can read more about this exciting Salesforce update via TechCrunch.

The pandemic has clearly had an impact on the way we work, and this is especially true for salespeople. Salesforce introduced a number of updates to Sales Cloud this morning, including Salesforce Meetings, a smart overlay for Zoom meetings that gives information and advice to the sales team as they....

While Salesforce is the world’s No.1 CRM, to think of it as “just a CRM" is to completely miss the scope of what Salesforce offers today.

One platform, with endless possibilities. Here’s just 7:

1. Service - Rapidly respond to customer needs on any channel & provide fast, scalable digital service anywhere.

4. Analytics - Visual analytics, data storytelling & collaboration to power real data-driven decision making.

5. Learning - Quickly deliver digital learning to all your teams with an on-demand gamified platform, customised with your brand & content.

6. Artificial intelligence - Anticipate customer actions, predict churn, conversion, payment delay, lifetime value, & more with Einstein AI.

7. Sustainability - With all your data flowing into one powerful platform, you can efficiently quantify your carbon footprint, or formulate a climate action plan for your business.
