🏆 MEET INDIE ALLISON — 2026 AJMX GIRLS CHAMPION 🇳🇿
Who are you, how old are you & where are you from?
I’m Indie Allison, 15 years old from Halcombe, Manawatu.
How did you get into motocross?
I started riding at 9. Dad took me to watch Woodville MX in 2020 and I told him, I want to race dirt bikes!
What are you racing now?
I’ve just gone full-time on a KTM 125cc. I’ll be racing 125cc and Women’s classes.
How was racing the 2026 AJMX in Australia?
It was overwhelming at first not knowing many people in the pits, but overall it was an incredible experience.
What did you think of the track?
I thought it was quite basic with not much to separate riders. I love big jumps and there weren’t any big doubles for me to send 😂
Did you think you could win?
Yes! I was confident I could win. I didn’t want to return to NZ without it.
What was a standout moment?
In my first Women’s 85cc race I put 60 seconds on 2nd before going down after a lap rider didn’t hold their line. That speed gave me huge confidence for the next motos. Another highlight was running P6 for most of Moto 3 against the boys and finishing P7.
How did winning feel?
I was in a bit of shock, but so excited!
How did the podium feel?
I was actually really nervous because I didn’t know many people there.
What was hardest about racing in Australia?
Not having everything you’re used to having in your moto trailer! You don’t realise what you need until you don’t have it.
How was your preparation?
I didn’t do as much as I would’ve liked. I definitely need to work on my sprint speed for a full moto.
What do you love about motocross?
The adrenaline rush!
What’s your next goal?
To race the NZ Senior Nationals for the first time — and I really want to win it!
Who would you like to thank?
My Mum & Dad, my coach Billy Frank, Tuckey my mechanic, The Underclass, Un4seen, Chemz NZ, Subway Feilding, Shane Hunter, and the Callesen family in Australia who helped so much with my Aussie bike.
And everyone else who supports me — I truly appreciate it. Thank you! ❤️🏁
