We’re still here — busy behind the scenes on the repairs 🔧

Plenty of jobs through this week already, including a lot of diagnostic work — figuring out what’s actually wrong so you don’t have to guess.

Just a few from the past week:

• iPhone 14 Pro Max — not powering on
• Windows PC not starting — new hard drive, data recovered, upgraded to Windows 11
• Samsung Tab A — screen replacement
• iPhone 13 — sound issues (no parts needed, just a proper clean of the speaker filters)
• Samsung A12 — charging + power button issue (fixed with know-how, no parts needed)

Not every problem needs parts thrown at it — sometimes it just takes the right knowledge and experience.

LET'S BUST SOME MYTHS 🐉......We've seen a few "scare-tactic" promos from stores like JB Hi-Fi recently, trying to get you to buy a new "Windows 11 PC" because Windows 10 is going to self-destruct at the end of the year!🔥 Let's clarify some things:

1. There's no such thing as a "Windows 11 PC". Most modern PCs made in the last 5-10 years will run it. The issue is that Microsoft have put some restrictions on which ones can be upgraded in order to sell more new PCs! 😮

2. Windows 10 will continue to work normally (albeit without any new updates), so chill 😉

If you want to move to Windows 11, we can get around those restrictions and upgrade your existing laptop or desktop PC to Windows 11 for a fraction of the cost of a new PC! Get in touch to discuss.

When a laptop heatsink/fan is blocked up like this, it will make a big noise due to the fan ramping up, trying to keep it cool. The processor will also slow down in order to keep the heat under control.

After cleaning out this blockage and applying new thermal paste on the heatsink, she's back to normal. This type of issue is very common when laptops are used on beds, carpets, or basically anything fluffy/dusty. It becomes like a little vacuum cleaner!

DETAILS FOR THE GEEKS : the temps dropped by 20 degrees, the fan went from 100% power down to 70% max, and the processor speed went from a measly 900MHz (throttled badly), back to the advertised 2400MHz 😮
