200 grams of carbs for an entire 100K.

That’s how Vlad Ixel fueled at the beginning of his trail-running journey. Today, his intake per hour looks very different.

A race plan won’t make everything go according to plan. That’s not the point.

Yesterday with , we talked about what it actually means to prepare for race day beyond the training.

How hard should you push? Where should you hold back? When should you fuel? And what happens when the weather changes, your legs don’t feel as expected, or the day simply doesn’t go your way?

Especially as races get longer, steeper and more demanding, “I’ll figure it out on the day” becomes a risky strategy.

Planning is about understanding what you’re getting into and having something to adjust from when things don’t go to plan.

The goal isn’t just to get to the finish line. It’s to arrive at the start line prepared, manage your effort smartly, and give yourself the best chance to finish strong.

Thanks adidas Runners for running, learning and talking race day with us 🫶🏽
