You voted, you judged, you had opinions (so many opinions) and the people have spoken. Latte #4 takes the crown (Kristen) as our resident barista prodigy. Turns out we do have talent hiding in the office, who knew.

As for the random draw - congrats to Fiona Power who's walking away with a double movie pass despite having zero say in how the coffee actually turned out. Sometimes the universe just likes you.

To everyone who voted, argued in the comments, and defended their favourite cup like it was personal, thanks for playing along. The rest of the mugshots will go back to being anonymous, mediocre coffee, as intended.

Branding opportunities are everywhere - even on a mediocre latte, made by our own team, on our own machine, in our own office. We're not proud. We're not ashamed either.

So we made it a competition. Best cup wins a movie pass. Worst cup gets our collective judgment, forever.

From Max Tarr Engineering to Tarros.

The water and mechanical infrastructure team came to us looking for a name and identity that could stand on its own while still sitting within the Max Tarr Group.

The goal was to create a distinct brand that would help them reach their particular client base while remaining connected to the sister company.

Tarros came out of that process. A quiet nod to Taras, son of Poseidon, with the subtle TARR acknowledging where they came from.

The identity draws from the world they work in, pipes, flow lines and engineered forms, creating a visual language that carries across signage, vehicles, uniforms and documents.

We rolled the brand out across collateral and templates, built a landing page, and are now working with them on the full website, alongside photography directed to support it.

A shift that flows naturally from Max Tarr to Tarros.

Some businesses are sitting on a lot of data, they just don’t always know how to communicate it.

Annual reports aren’t exactly page-turners. No one’s lining up for the yearly release of business data.

But people don’t read complicated information well, and how something is laid out makes a big difference to how it’s understood.

That’s where good design comes in.

It turns dense numbers into something clear, easy to follow, and actually useful. It helps people see what’s working, what’s not, and what the business is really about.

It might not be the next New York Times best seller, but it can still be something people get value from.

Our spider plant has been busy and we’ve now got a bunch of spiderlets looking for new homes.

At the same time, our ex-flocker Lizi is raising funds to help get a support dog for her daughter. So we joined a few dots and turned it into a win-win situation, here’s how it works:

1. Pop into Blacksheepdesign and grab a spider plant
2. Scan the QR code and donate whatever you can
3. Plants get loving new homes.
4. A young girl gets one step closer to the support dog she needs.
