We’ve got a new bloke on the team.

Meet Sasha Schwartz, our newest recruit at Cutting Edge Signs.

Same beard. Same sunnies. Different bloke. Apparently.

Matthew and Sasha have already been putting their skills to work on the new Popeyes signage in Nelson.

Two for the price of one? Not quite. But twice the good looks and a cracking job done.

Welcome to the crew, Sasha!

An unforgettable weekend of sign painting, shared ideas, craftsmanship and quality banter at Letterheads 2026 in Nelson.

A huge thank you to Phil Guerin and the team at Designart Signs for hosting, to Andy Lowe of Lowe Creative and Alex Burnett of The Old Sign Studio for helping bring it all together.

To everyone behind the scenes, everyone who helped with the sign, and every fellow signwriter who shared their time, skills and ideas.

Proud to have you on the Cutting Edge team, Andy. Here’s to more great signs, shared ideas and a few jokes along the way. 🧡

From the big picture to the finishing touches — we’re proud to be helping bring Playspace Whakatū to life.
Still a work in progress, but already making its mark on Nelson. From the detailed grey linework through to the final touches, it’s exciting to see this new space taking shape.

A special project, a special place, and one we’re proud to have played a part in.

Back from Shanghai after a few fairly intense days at SIGN CHINA 2026.

Arko and Logan Sutton from Future Grafix, New Plymouth were there representing the NZ Sign Group, with a clear purpose: meet suppliers, investigate new equipment and technology, and see what’s worth bringing back to New Zealand.

We did rather more than look.

Quite a bit of new gear is now on its way to Cutting Edge, giving us broader in-house capability, better production options and more control over quality, turnaround and cost for our clients.

The show itself was on another scale. Hall after hall of signage, print, LEDs, digital displays, fabrication equipment, automation and robots doing things that would probably trigger a fairly lively Health & Safety discussion back home.

And then there was Shanghai itself. Huge, fast, slightly bewildering, full of brilliant food, striking architecture and more going on at street level than you can properly take in. We fitted in as much as we could between expo days and supplier meetings.

A productive trip, plenty learnt, plenty bought, and fortunately nothing large enough to require its own shipping vessel.

Richmond’s worst-kept secret is out.

Yep — Chemist Warehouse is on the way, and while everyone’s been talking about the opening, our crew’s been busy behind the scenes helping bring it all to life alongside Capitol Signs.

Rain or shine, we get it done.

Two Nelson businesses. One shared belief: build something worth noticing. ⚡️

Hybrid Bikes designs and custom-builds award-winning carbon-fibre e-bikes around the people who ride them — and Cutting Edge has been part of that journey from day one, helping bring the brand to life.

From the bike to the brand, it’s all about thoughtful design, craftsmanship and doing things differently.

Designed in Nelson. Built in Nelson. Made to stand out.

A little vinyl. A lot of power. ⚡

From production to installation, here’s how we brought Power 2 You Electrical’s van graphics to life.

Clean. Bold. Built for the road.

That’s the power of good signage.
