A couple weeks ago I nearly walked into a stranger in the supermarket. I said sorry, looked at her properly for about five seconds, and kept shopping. Didn't think about it again.
A few minutes later, she found me again. Pushing an empty trolley. For me. I hadn't asked. I'd basically forgotten she existed.
That five second moment turned into the first episode of a new series I've been working on, called What Love Makes. It's about what actually happens between two people when real contact occurs, not the feeling of it, the thing it produces. Because I think most of what we call connection is actually just transaction, and I think the difference matters more than we've been taught to notice.
